DVL Theory is a driving theory test preparation application designed to help users practise Ghana DVLA-style questions, take mock exams, track learning progress, customise study preferences, receive reminders, and access support services.
Information We Collect
- Anonymous user identifier generated by the app for progress backup and restore.
- Practice and mock test attempts, including question ID, selected answer, correct answer, category, test type, time taken, date, and correctness.
- Study preferences such as questions per practice test, mock test duration, randomised questions, randomised answers, timer settings, and explanation preferences.
- Notification preferences such as study reminders, mock reminders, driving tips, feature updates, and reminder scheduling preferences.
- Optional profile information entered by the user, such as name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and profile image path.
- Support information submitted by the user, including reported problems, contact messages, ratings, feedback, platform information, and app version.
How We Use Information
- To save and restore user progress.
- To calculate progress, readiness, weak areas, mastery, review history, and learning streaks.
- To personalise practice sessions and mock exams.
- To synchronise study preferences and learning data across reinstallations or devices when supported.
- To provide reminders and notification-based learning support.
- To respond to support requests and improve the application.
Offline Use and Local Storage
- DVL Theory is designed to work offline.
- Most learning data is first stored locally on the user's device.
- When internet access is available, selected data may be securely synchronised with the DVL Theory backend.
Data Sharing
- We do not sell user data.
- We do not share personal learning data with advertisers.
- Data may be processed by hosting, infrastructure, analytics, or support service providers only where necessary to operate and improve the app.
Data Security
- Data transmitted between the app and server is protected using HTTPS.
- Server access is restricted to authorised administrators.
- Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect user data.
User Choices
- Users may continue using the app without creating a full profile.
- Users may change study preferences and notification preferences at any time.
- Users may contact support to request correction or deletion of data linked to their account or recovery identity where available.
Children's Privacy
- DVL Theory is intended for learner drivers and general driving theory preparation.
- The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age required by applicable law without appropriate consent.
